I have been a teacher in San Francisco since 1981. I came to Peabody in 1986 and have always appreciated its caring community. I taught kindergarten/first grade for many years. For five years when my own children were young, I worked part time as a Reading Recovery teacher providing early intervention in reading for first graders. I attended Berkeley and received a Reading Certificate which enabled me to be a Literacy Teacher for all the grades. I presently enjoy teaching second grade. One of my hopes for my students is that they develop confidence and find pleasure in literacy learning, so they become life long readers and writers.
