Room 11 – 3rd Grade
Ms. Brownstein-Lum
Hello. My name is Amy Brownstein-Lum “Ms. B” and I am happy to be at George Peabody this year!
I look forward to spending lots of time with my third-grade class learning about San Francisco, including our native people, the city government, geography, multiplication, literature and much more.
Drawing upon my experience in dance, music, and theatre, I plan to incorporate these subjects into the class curriculum often. I encourage all children to participate in the arts as much as possible and feel that a well-rounded education will benefit my students and help to develop a respect and understanding for the arts as well as the core subjects.
I encourage a classroom of learners to understand and care for one another and feel that teaching tolerance and respect for each other and ourselves will benefit not only the classroom environment but also the individual child as a member of our school society. Using such curriculum as TRIBES and “The Responsive Classroom” approach our class will learn how to care for our materials, ourselves and how we treat each other.
My goal this year is to inspire a room full of students to become life-long learners of the arts, reading, language, math, dance, theatre, literature, science, and the world.
Please feel free to stop by and visit us anytime. We look forward to the year ahead.
Ms. Crocker
This is my third year at George Peabody. I’m excited about teaching at this terrific school. I’ve been teaching in the San Francisco Unified School District for 9 years. I’ve had the privilege of teaching first, third, fourth, and now second grade; I really enjoy our second graders! They are such enthusiastic learners.
My favorite subjects to teach are math and science. Children are so curious and are such natural problem-solvers. I love being a part of their process. I find it very rewarding to guide a student through exploring a new concept, and seeing their excitement when they discover something new.
I am looking forward to a great school year, here at Peabody!
